Blog note: This post was originally published on January 27, 2025 on my old blog, Healthy Scholarly Pursuits.
I’ll try to do this series as time allows, but I’m excited to share how my first week back in graduate school has gone, so here goes:
what did I do this week?
- Met with a program advisor
- Wrapped up 2 classes and completed all assignments on time
- Finished module 1 readings, videos, and lectures
- Reached out to a public health leader for a qualitative methods assignment
- Started my Zotero library to collect articles I learn about in class and those I find for my thesis project
what worked?
Starting early (prepping notes, completing required readings, etc.)
what didn’t work?
Wrapping assignments up on Sunday
what can I do to improve or will try to improve?
Do daily check-ins and work on my required readings and setting my notes and assignments early, submitting by Saturday
what did I listen to, to get through the week?
- Mystic Flow – Ethereal Meditative Ambient Music – Sanctuary Soundscape For Relaxation
- Cosmic Calm For Book Lovers | Brown Noise Ambience | Reduce Stress | Deep Sleep | Insomnia Relief
what interesting article or quote did I come across?
“What we, as a society, do collectively to assure conditions in which people can be healthy” (IOM, 1988). A well-known (though not the oldest) definition of public health.
